Nike Air Max Day’s
All sneakerheads will know what the 26th of March represents – Air Max Day! We’ve been working with Nike on Air Max Day projects for many years now. There are too many case studies to share, so below we have outlined some of our favourite ones.
2015 – Stop for Air – The Launch of The Air Max Zero
2017 – Kiss my Airs – The Studio
2018 – LDN: On Air – The London Department
In 2015, we made a limited number of bespoke pendants of the Air Max 97, 95, 90, and the infamous Air Max 1 in both silver and gold-plated. We threw a party in Wapping, with performances from Novelist & Skepta. We had a 360-degree projection room, and the sickest gif creation you have ever seen!
2017 saw the creation of the Studio – a multiple-roomed venue in Kings Cross, which hosted a series of creative experiences inspired by the VaporMax to celebrate and support young Londoners. Over 1000 pieces of content were created, and Complex UK designed a zine from the best content. It ran over 5 days, with a total of 50 creative workshops for 700 consumers.
In 2018, we produced LDN: On Air, as part of a Global Activation to celebrate Air Max Day. We took over a studio in East London and hosted a design workshop that engaged participants in the Nike footwear design processes. The activity offered guests the opportunity to design their own Air Max’s while experiencing the briefing, concept building and mood boarding stages of design. Participants submitted their concepts to a panel of judges, before turning them into 3D designs that went before a Global vote – the most voted per city was turned into a reality. The project was live for 4 days and welcomed 250 participants.
